Accessibility

Our aim

Many of our patients are over 60, live with sight loss, or rely on a screen reader, a keyboard or larger text. We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and we treat accessibility as part of good clinical care, not an extra.

What we have in place

• Text and background colours meet the AA contrast standard, checked page by page
• Everything can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a skip-to-content link
• The enquiry forms and the eligibility checker announce their questions, confirmations and errors to screen readers
• Text sizes are comfortable for older eyes and resize cleanly up to 200 percent
• Animations and smooth scrolling switch off automatically if your device asks for reduced motion
• Images carry written descriptions, and buttons are sized for less steady hands

Known limitations

• Our two short service videos do not yet have captions. We are adding them, and in the meantime we are happy to talk through what they cover on the phone.
• The map on our contact page is provided by Google and can be awkward to use with a keyboard. Our address also appears in plain text on the same page.

Help in another format

If anything on this site is hard for you to use or read, you do not need the website at all: call or WhatsApp us on 07883 823 469 and we will handle your enquiry in person. We can also read information aloud over the phone and provide large-print copies of anything we give you on paper.
